About MillennialMoney101

Our Mission

MillennialMoney101 exists to close the financial literacy gap for millennials — the generation that entered adulthood during the 2008 financial crisis, burdened by student debt, and now navigating homeownership and retirement planning with less employer support than any previous generation.

We write plain-English guides on the financial topics that actually matter in your 20s, 30s, and 40s: paying off debt, building credit, investing for the first time, buying a home, and preparing for retirement. Our goal is simple: give you the information you need to make confident financial decisions.

What We Cover

  • Investing for Beginners — Index funds, ETFs, Roth IRAs, 401(k)s, and how to start building a portfolio from scratch.
  • Paying Off Debt — Student loans, credit card debt, car loans, and strategies to get out of debt faster.
  • Building Credit — Understanding FICO scores, reading your credit report, and building excellent credit from scratch.
  • Buying Your First Home — The complete process from pre-approval to closing, plus programs that reduce the barrier to entry.
  • Personal Finance in Your 30s — The decade that defines your financial future — budgeting, insurance, estate planning, and retirement.

Our Calculators

We built free, no-signup financial calculators that show you the real numbers for your situation: Investment Growth, Debt Payoff, Credit Score Simulator, Mortgage Affordability, and Net Worth.
